If you are coming via public transport you can get a train, coach or bus to Scarborough. We are on the bus route from Scarborough (the Ravenscar bus), however there are only 2 buses a day so a taxi is often the best option.
The nearest airports are Durham Tees Valley and Leeds/Bradford. Trains are available between Manchester Airport and Scarborough.
If you are driving to us it’s a lovely drive, coming either from Scarborough or Whitby.
If you are coming from the direction of Whitby take the Scarborough road (A171) over the moors. You will pass THE FLASK petrol station and caravan park / inn on the right. Continue for a mile or so until you see a left turn signed for Ravenscar and Staintondale, when you take this turn you go by a pub called THE FALCON on your left. Take the next left after the pub and go along this country road until you reach a T-junction, turn right towards Staintondale. Once you get into the village you will see the church on the right, the chapel is after the church. Notice the black and white bollards by the entrance to the car-park.
If you are coming from the direction of Scarborough take the Whitby road (A171) through the villages of Burniston and then Cloughton. As you come out of Cloughton you will see a right turn (as the road bends sharply to the left), take this road by Cober Hill Hotel. Follow this road for a few miles until you get into the village of Staintondale. DO NOT turn off the main road. You will see a house on the left that looks like a church (it has a bell and was actually the old school), the chapel is a little further along, also on the left. Notice the black and white bollards by the entrance to the car-park.
Please dress comfortably; layered clothing is a good idea, you may also wish to bring some thick socks or slippers. Please bring your lunch!
