Boggle Hole Youth Hostel - accomodation from just £10 a night - note you need to be fit enough to walk up/down the hill from the car-park. Amazing location, right on the beach.

happy to do one night stays. Wonderful big refrectory for meals, spotlessly clean. A short drive or long walk into Whitby town, 20 mins from Staintondale.
