Choosing to be Grounded

Well it was summer yesterday, a hot, bright, sunny, blue sky, warming your bones kind of day.

Because of the gorgeous weather I did a bit of earthing. I’d been busy clearing poo in the pony field, which is a very grounding activity, then I couldn’t resist lying down on the grass and looking at the sky. This is the best way to get grounded, to fully connect with the energy of the earth, and I must say it was fabulous! Breathing in the magic of the moment, connecting with the sky and the earth, drinking in the energy of both. Moments like this make it easy to feel full of gratitude and joy.

Today it’s autumn, the leaves are floating down from the trees, there’s a definite chill to the air and I had soup for lunch rather than salad. Things can change quickly overnight, that’s our only constant, that change will always happen.  My grounding today took the form of a yoga mat and a super special practice that had me feeling rejuvenated. It’s a fabulous way of starting the day.

I’ve been talking a lot about grounding recently to clients and students, mainly because many people that I am connecting with are experiencing feelings of anxiety. I share how important it is to be grounded then the body can start to feel safe.  I usually show them some simple exercises to do to help to ground and then I get out my stainless steel spoon to show how massaging the feet with this can help. Really it can! If you don’t believe me, the next time you feel ungrounded, spacey, do an energy test to see if you are 100% grounded. If not stroke your feet with the spoon and when you test again you will be grounded, it works every time 🙂

So here I am, standing on the earth and rocks as often as I can, you’ve got to love rocks! Connecting to the earth, reaching to the sky, and welcoming energy from both. It’s been a challenging time, but time moves on, spring to summer, to autumn, to winter, the cycle of life ever turning and I feel blessed to be here now, in this moment, grounded, strong and ready to shine.
